Virginity Tests Mandatory For Women Entering University - Declares Egyptian Lawmaker Agina

"Egyptian lawmaker who proposed ‘female genital mutilation’ to ‘reduce sexual desiresnow wants women to undergo ‘virginity tests’ to get into college"


"The Ministry of Higher Education was urged by the lawmaker to issue a notice that would make a virginity test mandatory for women entering university.


He added that only women who pass the virginity test should be granted admission into the specific university.


Agina, in an interview, stated, “Any girl who enters university, we have to check her medical examination to prove that she is a Miss. Therefore, each girl must present an official document upon being admitted to university stating she’s a Miss.”


The title “miss” is emphasised upon because in Egypt, “miss” stands for a woman who has retained her virginity.


Pre-marital sex is looked down upon and is forbidden in Egypt.


Agina is no stranger to controversy. Only last month he suggested every woman to undergo genital mutilation to “reduce their sexual desires” because men in Egypt are “sexually weak.”


Agina had argued, stronger men will be required for Egypt to consider ban of female genital mutilation but since the country does not have any, it's just legitimate for women to get genitally mutilated..."
