If you are hailing cars from various Ride Share companies, beware, conscious, prepared: make sure you have identified the car you are getting into. Prevention can mean life or death.
- Whether it is the license plate number
- Asking the driver for your information
- Demand a driver that speaks English
- If someone else is in the car is it another passenger? Who is it?
- Make sure all parties have been designated by the company to be in the car.
- Send a photo, or text with the license plate number to someone you know.
- Send a photo of all in the car to someone you know.
- Send a photo of the car to someone you know.
- Send a photo of the drivers identification to someone you know.
* Most important: do not get into a car, or stay in a car you deem not safe. If there is something from the get go that does not seem right, be smart and ask for another car, or call another company, or dial 911. You do not have a duty to ride in a car, just because you made a call.
Be safe not sorry.
